Snuffles is a boutique cattery founded by Steven and Kiri, specialising in the breeding of Persian and Exotic Shorthair cats. Our prefix, Snuffles, reflects the distinctive flat-faced charm and gentle nature that define these breeds. Our journey began in 2014 with the arrival of Cocoa, our first Persian cat. What started as a beloved pet quickly developed into a lifelong passion. In 2019, we welcomed George — a gift to celebrate the purchase of our first home — further deepening our commitment to these exceptional breeds. We began breeding in 2021. Our cattery initially operated under ANCATS and now proudly holds membership with Cats NSW, where we continue to pursue excellence in line with ethical breeding standards. Our breeding program includes select queens and sires including imports from New Zealand and Portugal, chosen for their health, temperament, and adherence to breed standards. As long-time partners, Steven and Kiri have worked together since their teenage years and are involved in several ventures, including Snuffles Pet Products, which complements the cattery with a focus on premium pet care. Together, Steven and Kiri are also raising four young children who play a valuable role in the daily life of our cattery. Their involvement contributes to the socialisation of our kittens, helping them become confident, affectionate, and well-adjusted companions. All kittens at Snuffles are raised in a clean, structured home environment with a strong emphasis on health and wellbeing. Our breeding practices include regular veterinary oversight, DNA testing for hereditary conditions, and comprehensive early-life socialisation. We take pride in producing kittens that are not only physically sound but also emotionally well-prepared for life in a family setting. At Snuffles, we recognise that adopting a kitten is a significant, often deeply personal decision.
