1. General Terms 1.1 These Terms and Conditions govern all transactions between Snuffles and the purchaser of a kitten or cat. 1.2 By placing a deposit or purchasing a kitten from Snuffles, the buyer acknowledges and agrees to these Terms and Conditions. 1.3 Snuffles reserves the right to refuse or cancel a sale if it is determined to be in the best interest of the kitten. In such cases, a full refund of any payments made will be issued. 2. Ethical Breeding & Welfare Standards 2.1 Snuffles is a registered breeder with Cats NSW and strictly adheres to the Cats NSW Code of Ethics. 2.2 Our breeding program prioritises health, temperament, and breed preservation over commercial gain. 2.3 Kittens are raised in a home environment, receiving ample socialisation and exposure to household activities to ensure confident, well-adjusted temperaments. 2.4 Snuffles follows strict ethical breeding practices, including genetic health screening to minimise hereditary conditions. 2.5 All kittens remain in our care until at least 10 weeks of age, ensuring they are physically and emotionally ready for transition to their new homes. 3. Kitten Health & Veterinary Care 3.1 All kittens will:     •    Be vet-checked prior to leaving.     •    Receive at least one F3 vaccination, administered by a registered veterinarian.     •    Be microchipped and registered in compliance with NSW legislation.     •    Be litter-trained and socialised before leaving Snuffles. 3.2 Buyers are encouraged to have their kitten examined by a licensed veterinarian within 48 hours of collection at their own expense. 3.3 Snuffles provides a 7-day health guarantee for undiagnosed pre-existing health conditions. Should a veterinarian diagnose a serious genetic or congenital illness within this period, a replacement kitten may be offered (subject to availability). No refunds will be issued. 3.4 Snuffles is not responsible for any veterinary expenses incurred after the kitten has left our care. 3.5 Buyers agree to continue with regular veterinary care, vaccinations, parasite prevention, and proper diet to maintain the kitten’s health. 3.6 Buyers acknowledge that stress-related illness (such as minor respiratory infections) can occur when a kitten transitions to a new home and does not constitute grounds for return, replacement, or refund. 4. Deposit & Payment Policy 4.1 All deposits are strictly non-refundable and non-transferable under any circumstances. This includes but is not limited to:     •    Buyer changing their mind.     •    Financial difficulties.     •    Inability to collect the kitten.     •    Change in personal circumstances. 4.2 A deposit is required to reserve a kitten. Until a deposit is received, Snuffles does not guarantee availability of any kitten. 4.3 The remaining balance must be paid in full before the kitten is released to the buyer. Failure to complete payment by the agreed date may result in the forfeiture of the kitten and all payments made. 4.4 If Snuffles cancels a sale for any reason (other than buyer forfeiture), a full refund will be issued. 5. Collection, Transport & Risk Acknowledgement 5.1 Kittens will not leave Snuffles before 10 weeks of age. 5.2 Buyers must arrange transport at their own cost unless agreed otherwise. If using a pet transport company, Snuffles is not responsible for any stress, illness, injury, or fatality resulting from transport. 5.3 Buyers assume all risks associated with shipping. Additional insurance is recommended for interstate or long-distance transport. 5.4 If a kitten is not collected within 7 days of the agreed pick-up date, Snuffles reserves the right to retain or resell the kitten, and all payments will be forfeited. 6. Ownership, Lifetime Commitment & Rehoming 6.1 Buyers must provide lifelong care, love, and responsible ownership, including:     •    High-quality nutrition and fresh water.     •    Regular vet check-ups and vaccinations.     •    Indoor housing or secure outdoor enclosures only (free-roaming is prohibited).     •    Proper socialisation and enrichment. 6.2 Kittens may not be resold, given away, or abandoned. If the buyer can no longer care for their cat, Snuffles must be notified, and we will assist in rehoming. 6.3 If at any time a kitten is found to be neglected, mistreated, or in poor health, Snuffles reserves the right to reclaim the kitten without compensation. 6.4 Declawing is strictly prohibited and constitutes a breach of contract. 7. Breeding & Desexing Policy 7.1 All kittens sold as pets will be desexed prior to leaving, unless an exemption is provided by a licensed veterinarian. 7.2 Kittens sold with breeding rights will only be transferred to registered breeders affiliated with Cats NSW, ACF, CCCA, or ANCATS. 7.3 If a pet kitten is found to have been used for breeding without permission, the buyer agrees to pay damages equal to the original purchase price of the kitten. 8. Liability Waiver & Assumption of Risk 8.1 Snuffles provides kittens in good health at the time of transfer but cannot guarantee against future illnesses, genetic conditions, or accidents. 8.2 Snuffles does not assume liability for:     •    Veterinary expenses after the kitten has left our care.     •    Illnesses resulting from stress, improper care, or environmental factors.     •    Death due to accidents, improper care, or negligence.     •    Any injuries, damages, or losses caused by the kitten once in the buyer’s possession. 8.3 Under no circumstances will Snuffles be responsible for compensation beyond the original purchase price of the kitten. 9. Legal Considerations & Dispute Resolution 9.1 These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. 9.2 Any legal disputes shall be handled exclusively within NSW jurisdiction. 9.3 If legal action is required to enforce these Terms and Conditions, the buyer agrees to cover all legal fees incurred by Snuffles. 9.4 Defamation Clause: Buyers agree not to post negative or defamatory statements about Snuffles on social media or public platforms without first seeking resolution privately. 10. Agreement to Terms 10.1 By purchasing a kitten from Snuffles, the buyer acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions. These Terms and Conditions are legally binding. Any exceptions must be made in writing and signed by both parties. Any amendments made by Snuffles to the Terms and Conditions up to the date of sale (the date the kitten leaves our cattery) are valid amendments to the original contract and the buyer acknowledges that they have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions.
